Park Fire

The Park Fire in Northern California is now California’s 4th largest wildfire on record.

This record is sobering but doesn’t capture the enormous amount of hard work done by the over 5,500 firefighters and first responders on the frontlines, or the overall impact of the fire on people and property.

Measuring the size of a wildfire is important, but there is so much to the story. The numbers don’t capture the human and environmental impacts caused by the fire.

Here are some stats at the time of writing:

  • Date Started: 7/24/2024
  • Cause: Arson
  • 5,849 Personnel
  • 429,603 Acres
  • 41 Helicopters
  • 521 Engines
  • 180 Dozers
  • 115 Water Tenders
  • 107 Crews
  • 709 Structures Destroyed
  • 54 Structures Damaged
