Firewise
Calabasas currently has 11 Firewise Communities with 2 in the application process.
- Braewood Calabasas
- Calabasas Hills Estates
- Calabasas Ridge
- Creekside Calabasas Park
- The Estates of the Oaks
- Fire Safe Westridge Calabasas
- Greater Mulwood
- Mont Calabasas
- The Oaks of Calabasas
- Vista Pointe
- Westridge
These communities have been designated by NFPA as Firewise Communities. All these communities can now download their certificates and submit them to their insurance companies.
Recently we met with the residents of the following communities to discuss the advantages of becoming Firewise:
- Mulholland Heights
- Calabasas Senior Center
Home Assessments
Many home owners are taking advantage of our Free Home Ignition Zone (HIZ) Assessments in Calabasas are performed by a few dedicated and trained residents, the Resource Conservation District, and the Santa Monica Mountain Fire Safe Council.
We were recently interviewed and filmed by KABC Channel 7 News while doing an HIZ Assessment.
