Draft Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP)

The City has been preparing a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for the last 12 months. Leading the way is a Development Team of key community members from EPIC, The Calabasas Coalition, and CPHA, along with other key stakeholders like LACoFD, MRCA, Santa Monica Mountains Fire Safe Council, and key department heads within the city.

We are currently in the Public Review Stage for the Draft CWPP and are seeking input from community members, agencies, environmental groups, and other interested parties to help ensure the CWPP reflects the Calabasas community’s priorities.

Please review the CWPP and submit any comments on the public feedback submission via the project Story Map. The public review period will be open beginning February 11, 2026, until March 13th, 2026. We will also be hosting a VIRTUAL Public Meeting on Thursday, February 26th, to discuss the CWPP and provide an additional opportunity for questions. The next steps after the final public comment period will be to discuss comments with the Development Team and finalize the CWPP for Council approval on June 10, 2026.

Additionally, please share this with your community networks!
